 Post subject: install from iso file on hard drive

Hi,

Is there a way to install nimblex directly from the .iso file on the hard drive. I have grub installed but not grub 2. THanks.

This is a post on the Ubuntu forums and relates to Slax but you can adapt the method to suit. (Slax is similar to Nimblex).

To access the iso from linux
mount -o loop /path/to/nimblex.iso /mnt/image (make /mnt/image first)
then the files can be copied out.
Ther are tools that can do this in windows....I happen to use tugzip which is a great freeware archiver that can also extract debs and so on.

I would stick with grub or grub4dos rather than deal with the unescessarily complicated grub 2....you can always ask here for help with syntax.

One handy trick is to run from the iso using from=/nimblex.iso but you would still need vmlinuz and initrd.gz
