I finally decided to start a logo contest because I believe that NimbleX needs a new (fresh) logo.

Everyone who has talent and ideas and think can design a better logo for NimbleX is invited to join the contest.

There are some small requirements:
* The logo must be identifiable with NimbleX
* The logo must be original work of the submitter
* Should be some sort of scalable format
* It would be a good idea to be usable with 2 or 3 colors

It is also important that you understand that if you enter the contest you acknowledge that the logo does not violate any copyright and that the design will not be returned to the designer.

The deadline is the first day of spring (1 March 2008) but may be extended until summer.

I would like to think the biggest prize will be the actual satisfaction that the winning logo will represent NimbleX but I would also offer some symbolic monetary reward of 50$. Unfortunately I can't offer more at this time but maybe in the future I will.

The main idea is the logo is for you and I hope here people can exchange constructive ideas and so on. Please be aware that any posts that are not appropriate will be deleted.

Anyway, at the end of the submissions I plan to allow you to vote for your favorite logo.
I think that the final score will be about 80% what users vote and 20% the one that I vote.

I got some questions on the mail and I would like to add some things here:

- A person can enter the competition with several logos or versions of a logo.
- The design can be also put in the contest of other designs (like a wallpaper, a box, USB, CD, etc) but it has to be also presented clean.

ok, I've read your "Logo contest announce" and I'm thinking about it.
The actual logo is nice, clean and easy to remember.
The man in movement recall de definition of "Nimble" and the red circle in the background may remember a cd-rom (or the livecd!) but the slogan of Nimblex "The new wave of Linux" isn't appropriate to this logo because there's no links.
Give me more time to think and I'll return with some ideas.

Are we talking about just the little logo or should the name 'Nimblex' be in the logo also?

Are you wanting to stay with the running man idea or was you wanting something completely different?

Should the logo represent the ability to build custom Nimblex images?

I am mailnly talning about the logo but adding also the text wouldn't hurt at all.

I would accept anything that is also submited in vector format. The people would then vote to submited logs and the current one.

It would be cool if the logo had something to do with what is NimbleX but is not a must.

just 1 question are you aible to modify the current logo or use the nimble x logo so you can modify it!

If you want to modify this logo and make it nicer is fine with me. It just has to be a vector format.

Hi Bogdan, Might I suggest mentioning your logo contest at Linux Graghic Users forum. They are not a large forum yet but are devoted to open source graphic art. I'm sure some of the artists would submit work just to show support for a linux OS.
